A Texas native, I write to inspire others with poetic memoir and stories of faith, family, and friendship. Stories and poems affirm the awesome mystery of creation in all aspects of life. I facilitate a faith-based creative writing group. Reside in San Antonio, Texas. I am a graduate of the Oblate School of Theology.
While the recent pandemic kept us at a social distance, and curbed any day trips, photography and writing kept me going.
***In my life and faith journey, I have experienced many struggles. Losing my son when he was still a young person pursuing his dreams and goals was a painful loss. I know that if he had lived longer, he would have made other special impacts on many. He still does though, as people tell me that they appeal to him for intercession. I do too!***
*****My desire to continue to grow spiritually led me to become an Oblate of St. Benedict with the Benedictine Sisters of St. Scholastica in Boerne, Texas. I am truly blessed.*******

Where to begin? In childhood, living in Falfurrias, Texas, I was amazed at the beauty of creation. I formed and stored words in my mind. As a student at Harlandale High School in San Antonio, Texas, I wrote my first poem which was published in our School Newspaper.
Years later, while working at the Oblate School of TheoIogy, I wrote an article for Offerings Journal of Oblate School of Theology.
I also collaborated on an anthology with The Center for Women in Church & Society at Our Lady of the Lake University.
Later, I presented writing sessions at the SoL Center at University Presbyterian Church. The participants whom I met came from all over the city of San Antonio!
In 2010, I started a faith-based writing group in collaboration with parishioners at St. Brigid Catholic Church. This creative faith-based group inspires us to pray, share faith, journal, and share our stories.
I have enjoyed my writer's journey with The Next Chapter Writers. We first began as Las Mujeres, but after a few years, we found ourselves in another venue with a different title.
I share what I see in the world about me and give praise to the Creator. When people tell me they keep my books nearby and reflect daily from the poems, I give thanks!
Occasionally, I share thoughts and reflections in Spanish (my first language).
In July, I began a weekly blog, "Alabanza: De Colores" to offer praise to Our Creator. It is in Spanish/English. It is a work in progress, so the title of this blog may change.
Glossary:
Alabanza: Praise/also Songs of Praise
Colores: Colors
